For Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, 2024 marked a series of unprecedented achievements and milestones, including another year of record-breaking research funding and widespread recognition for individual faculty members and the institution as a whole. This year, Northwestern Medicine scientists blazed new trails in advancing the fundamental understanding of the underpinnings of disease, while at the same time innovating and inventing solutions to improve the lives of patients everywhere. From a year of record-breaking research funding, totaling $742.2 million in research funding and awards, to scientific breakthroughs that have pushed the boundaries of cancer treatment, the fundamental biology of aging, and new understanding of viruses and infectious disease, this last year’s achievements have continued to bolster Feinberg’s reputation as a leader in advancing human health.
