
After 25 years on Feinberg’s faculty, Jeffrey Goldberger, MD, professor in Medicine-Cardiology, will become chief of cardiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.

As the first medical director of Feinberg’s Office of Continuing Medical Education, Clara Schroedl, MD, plans to expand and improve current education offerings through innovation and technology.

Harris Perlman, PhD, professor in Medicine-Rheumatology, will succeed Richard Pope, MD, as chief of Rheumatology.

Jonathan Licht, MD, Johanna Dobe Professor and chief of the Division of Medicine-Hematology/Oncology, has accepted a new leadership position at the University of Florida Health Cancer Center.

Michel Kliot, MD, will succeed Andrew Parsa, MD, PhD, as interim chair of the Department of Neurological Surgery.

Nicole Mladic, currently serving in an interim capacity, has been appointed the executive director of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

Clyde Yancy, MD, Magerstadt Professor and chief of Medicine-Cardiology, has been named Vice Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, a newly created position that highlights the school’s commitment to an inclusive community of students, residents, fellows and faculty from diverse backgrounds.

David Baker, MD, MPH, Michael A. Gertz Professor of Medicine and chief of the division of Medicine-General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, will join the Joint Commission.

Ali Shilatifard, PhD, Chair of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics, was appointed to the senior editorial board of the scientific journal Science. In his new role, he will provide strategic advice and constructive feedback about the journal.

Four Feinberg faculty members have been elected fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the world’s largest general scientific society.
