Urology Resident, Richard Matulewicz, MD, MS, received the AAMC Clinical Care Innovation Pilot Award with co-author faculty member, Joshua Meeks, MD, PhD for “The Hematuria Initiative: A Step Towards a ‘Learning Health System.” The Clinical Care Innovation (CCI) Awards recognize and support the efforts of teaching hospitals and academic medical centers in advancing care delivery and improving quality through the integration of education and research.

Marcos Botelho, MD, receives third place in the Best Image category by the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance
Marcos Botelho, MD, Cardiovascular MRI Fellow, was awarded third place in the Best Image category by the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR) in Los Angeles, CA, January 27-30, 2016.
Entitled “Coronary Dream”, the image depicts a long segment of the right coronary artery and the initial segment of the left main coronary artery. Botelho acquired the image using a technique called Quiescent-Interval Slice-Selective (QISS) MRI. He then used Google’s “Deep Dream” software to give the image a painterly quality.
Poster awarded the CRS 2016 “Best Neuroradiology Scientific Poster”
A research poster co-authored by residents and faculty members from the Department of Radiology, Section of Neuroradiology has been awarded the 2016 “Best Neuroradiology Scientific Poster” by the Chicago Radiological Society (CRS). The poster is entitled: “Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML) Mimicking Gliomatosis Cerebri on MR Spectroscopy and Perfusion.”(Charles H. Kim, Matthew J. Sondag, Benjamin P.
