
Luis Rivera, MD, a first-year resident in Family and Community Medicine, was recently awarded a $25,000 scholarship by the National Medical Fellowship for his work and commitment to underserved populations of Chicago.

Bruce Henschen, ’12 MD, resident in Internal Medicine, received the L. Randol Barker Award from Johns Hopkins University for research on the impact of the Education Centered Medical Home in medical education.

Third-year medical student Adina Goldberger will use her Schweitzer Fellowship to develop and implement a discussion-based preventative health program for women currently incarcerated in the Cook County Jail.

Peter Dorschner, a third-year medical student, was awarded an Alpha Omega Alpha 2014 Carolyn L. Kuckein Student Research Fellowship to investigate hospital-acquired infections in transplant patients.
