On April 7 and 8, more than 200 prospective medical students visited Feinberg for a “Second Look” at the medical school. The two-day event allowed admitted students to get a feel for life at Feinberg by attending seminars, touring campus and meeting with current students and faculty.
On April 7, students attended the Advancing Diversity in Medicine (ADIM) Symposium to explore health and equity in Chicago, learn about Feinberg’s work with local communities and how they can help take care of diverse communities.Students heard from several affinity group leaders at Feinberg, as well as representatives from many of Feinberg’s Diversity & Inclusion programs.In the evening, students enjoyed a “Taste of Chicago” themed reception where accepted students, current students, staff and faculty mingled and were treated to many Chicago-inspired foods.On April 8, Feinberg’s education deans from the Augusta Webster, MD, Office of Medical Education (AWOME) welcomed students to the Active Learning Classroom to share what makes Feinberg different and how students can navigate a unique path to personal and professional growth.James Mac Walter, MD, assistant professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care, led students through an active simulated learning experience.Current Feinberg student Harris Avgousti led a tour of the campus.
