On Friday, June 21, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program’s Class of 2026 celebrated the beginning of their medical journey with a white coat ceremony. The newly formed class comes to Feinberg from 15 different states and collectively hold degrees from 27 different academic institutions across 14 different undergraduate majors. They are joining Feinberg with an average of two years of patient care experience.
Keynote speaker, Daytheon Sturges, PhD, PA-C, vice chair for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the department of Family Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, welcomed the students to the PA profession with an inspiring message.
“Your resilience, your dedication, and your tenacity have brought you here today. And we are all incredibly proud of you and what you have accomplished already, and what you will accomplish as you pursue achieving this dream of becoming a PA,” said Sturges.
Following the keynote address, all students individually received their white coat from their faculty advisor. Wearing their coats for the first time, the students were celebrated with applause from family and friends in attendance.
