Share Facebook Twitter Email Feinberg School of Medicine’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion recently welcomed its largest cohort yet – a group of 21 Northwestern undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds – to participate in NUDOCS, an immersive week-long introduction to careers in medicine. In partnership with the Northwestern Health Professions Advising Office and Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences, NUDOCs is a pathway program designed to support and inspire the upcoming generation of students pursuing careers in medicine. Students began the program reciting the Hippocratic Oath (a historically significant pledge of ethics taken by physicians) as they donned white coats, fully embracing the responsibilities of physicians. They were also granted firsthand insights into the daily routines of physicians through clinical shadowing and laboratory exposure. Programming also included specialty discussions featuring faculty members, residents, alumni and admissions advisors. The mentorship and academic support extended by this program have consistently empowered students to evolve into outstanding, patient-centric leaders.
