Feinberg Academy of Medical Educators Announces Jon Lomasney as Director
Jon Lomasney, MD, associate professor of pathology and pharmacology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, has been appointed director of the Feinberg Academy of Medical Educators (FAME).
Well-established as an investigator, clinician and educator, Lomasney understands the unique needs of faculty who are challenged to fulfill many different roles. Under his leadership, FAME will focus on supporting Feinberg’s teaching mission and the faculty who chart the course for innovative education methods.
As director of the academy, Lomasney will be responsible for the following initiatives: creating the guidelines for membership, developing criteria, and working collaboratively with the Augusta Webster, MD, Office of Medical Education to select and manage the core teaching faculty; finding and communicating existing internal and external faculty development opportunities; and developing new programs, workshops and web-based resources to address additional training needs.
FAME was launched in October 2009 and is housed within the Center for Education in Medicine. Both the academy and center help develop and showcase education excellence at Feinberg.
