Dr. Carla Pugh to Speak on Educating Doctors of the Future
Giving the phrase “hands of a surgeon” new meaning, Carla Pugh, MD, assistant professor of surgery and director of the Center for Advanced Surgical Education at the Feinberg School will discuss the inspiration behind her invention of cutting-edge simulation tools to teach future physicians and surgeons. Her pioneering use of sensor and data acquisition technology focuses on the physician’s sense of touch and its role in learning medical and surgical procedures. The presentation is sponsored by the Chicago Humanities Festival.
