Arthur Vies, PhD, professor emeritus of cell and molecular biology, enjoys the distinction of holding the longest-standing grant awarded by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. Not only has his research in the study of how bones and teeth form and their importance to musculoskeletal development been funded for 48 years, but also his project funding continues through 2010.
