Memorial Joins Brain Tumor Consortium

The Falk Brain Tumor Center of Children’s Memorial Hospital (CMH) is the newest member of the prestigious Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium. The Falk Center is the only institution to be accepted into the consortium this year. Other member institutions include the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Duke University, and Children’s National Medical Center.

Chosen for its high patient volume (100 new patients each year) and multidisciplinary clinical expertise, the Falk Center is directed by Northwestern University faculty members Tadanori Tomita, MD, professor of neurological surgery, with neuro-oncologist Stewart Goldman, MD, associate professor of pediatrics, serving as medical director. Benefits to patients include access to free brain tumor medication through consortium-developed clinical research; CMH will receive reimbursements from the National Cancer Institute.
