Bike-to-Work Week, June 13-19

Northwestern University has been working with various groups to promote transportation alternatives to ease traffic congestion and parking demand on the Chicago Campus. One transportation alternative that is relatively inexpensive, healthy, and non-polluting is commuting by bike. Whether you’ve considered biking to work but never tried it, are a regular bike commuter, or have never considered commuting by bike, we’d like to encourage you to participate in Bike-to-Work Week this June 13-19.

The Active Transportation Alliance has arranged a number of commuter stations with free food, coffee, and goodies set up around Chicago to help you on your commute, see a full list at http://www.activetrans.org/commuterstations. You can also ride your bike to one of the commuter stations set up at metra stops http://www.activetrans.org/biketometra. Not sure how to commute to work? You can find tips and tricks for commuting online at http://www.activetrans.org/commute

Sign up to take the Bike-to-Work Week commuter challenge with the Active Transportation Alliance at

Your department can compete with other University departments and other universities in the Chicago area to see who can garner the highest participation rate.

We hope you will join us in biking to work!

Sincerely,

University Services
