Feinberg School Moves Ahead in Med School Rankings

The Feinberg School of Medicine jumped one coveted space ahead from 20th to 19th in the U.S. News & World Report rankings for 2010.

Rankings are based on five categories that can be classified into two areas: the opinion of experts (deans, program directors, and senior faculty members) about program quality, and statistics that measure the quality of the school’s students, research activity, and faculty. The medical school began participating in the survey in 1995 and ranked 32 that year.

In the 18th spot is Cornell University’s Weill School of Medicine. Ranked 20th is University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill.

In other Northwestern graduate program rankings, the School of Education and Social Policy made a huge jump from 12th to 7th citing the highest GRE scores of all graduate schools of education in the nation. The Kellogg School of Management moved up the list of business schools from fourth to third place.
