Faculty Group Practice’s Cardiology Division Earns Kudos
The Division of Cardiology at the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation (NMFF) was highlighted in the February 2004 issue of Good Housekeeping as the top cardiology program in Illinois. NMFF, the primary full-time faculty group practice of the Feinberg School of Medicine, comprises more than 500 physicians practicing in 30 specialties.
The cardiology division is headed by Robert O. Bonow, MD, Max and Lilly Goldberg Distinguished Professor of Cardiology and professor of medicine and an attending physician at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The magazine partnered with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a research group that publishes the America’s Top Doctors guide, to identify the best cardiology centers around the country, with a focus on care for women. The division was recognized for its expertise in nuclear cardiology, heart valve disease, and coronary artery disease, with Dr. Bonow being listed as one of the “top docs” in the division. The division was 1 of 11 heart clinics in the Midwest, and the only one in Illinois, to be included in the magazine.
