Student AMWA Chapter Recognized
The student chapter of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) was selected the top graduate student organization at Northwestern on May 30 during the University Honors Day. The group was selected based on the nature and frequency of programs conducted. The chapter’s activities include presenting three guest speakers on topics ranging from domestic violence to breast cancer; participating in community service projects, including volunteering at a battered women’s shelter; and sponsoring a mentoring program that matches physicians and students based on specialty interest. Second-year student Katherine M. Krings of Glenview, Illinois, is president of the student AMWA chapter.
